Some of the Top Performers of NRL Dream Team in 2010 (averaging 50 or more) are Corey Parker (Broncos), David Stagg (Bulldogs), Nathan Hindmarsh (Eels), Cameron Smith (Storm) and Robbie Farah (Tigers)

Pretty much all the top Dream Team Coaches had them in their side at the end of the season.  We all want them in our team NOW but the $4.2 million salary cap, State of Origin commitments and the bye rounds means we have to choose carefully.

After round 19 last year, I reviewed the top DT performers and published the table below.

After Round 19

GMS Ave Pts TR  GO MG TA KM Oth Lost Pts 50’s % 50’s
STAGG 17 52.88 899 0 113 768 1 56 39 11 64.71%
FARAH 17 52.18 887 12 103 591 188 72 79 9 52.94%
HINDMARSH 16 52.94 847 0 134 712 0 74 73 9 56.25%
PARKER 14 57.50 805 108 191 510 3 70 77 13 92.86%
SMITH, C 13 54.00 702 72 62 481 113 42 68 8 61.54%

The table explains itself and may help you with finalising your 25-man squad for the start of the 2011 season.  Something else you should consider is their ability to hold or increase their 2011 starting price.

David Stagg (2RF) Bulldogs currently @ $367,100.00.  In 2010, he averaged 53.65, his starting price was $374,800.00 and by round 19 dropped to $311,600.00.

Robbie Farah (HOK) Tigers currently @ $367,600.00.  In 2010, he averaged 53.63, his starting price was $383,900.00, and by round 19 had dropped to $340,300.00.

Nathan Hindmarsh (2RF) Eels currently @ $363,700.00.  In 2010, he averaged 53.04, his starting price was $367,700.00 and by round 19 had dropped to $335,800.00.

Corey Parker (2RF) Broncos currently @ $391,700.00.  In 2010, he averaged 57.14, his starting price was $306,400.00 and by round 19 increased to $351,100.00.

Cameron Smith (HOK) Storm currently @ $372,200.00.  In 2010, he averaged 54.30, his starting price was $375,100.00 and by round 19 dropped to $342,500.00.

It will cost you $1,862,300.00 to buy all those players now.  In 2010, if you delayed the purchase of Farah, Stagg, Hindmarsh, and Smith until after round 19, you would have saved yourself $171,300.00.

You will need at least one of those players or someone of equal quality in your team now as your captain.  Which player to buy? – That is something I keep changing my mind on and I would be surprised if other coaches are not having the same problem.  Good luck.
