Melbourne Storm’s shocking week has taken another hit with prop Brett White charged by the NRL match review committee – not once but twice. In an outcome that sums up the club’s week from hell, White was cited for two separate incidents during the Storm’s 40-6 thrashing of the Warriors at Etihad Stadium on Sunday night. White, who has only just returned to action following a shoulder reconstruction in the off-season, will miss one match if he pleads guilty to both charges. His best option may be to fight one charge and take an early guilty plea on the other, giving him the opportunity to avoid any suspension if successful. If White opts to fight both charges and is unsuccessful he risks a two-game ban which would deny him any chance of gaining a spot in the Australian side for next month’s Test against New Zealand in Melbourne. There was further bad news for the club on Monday with fellow prop Aiden Tolman ruled our for up to six weeks with a medial ligament tear in his knee.
